I’ve spent so much time on that app. I’ve been often frustrated by the gamification mechanics. I nevertheless how they commit to propose their service for free, although they push way too much the premium non-advertising version. I don’t have a premium feeling about what they propose, there is no added value. The only value is that they annoy you less if you pay them. Not great. I Also love the fact that they propose so many different languages, and their idea to kind of crowdsource new languages with a beta program, it’s very smart, very well done. Nevertheless there is also a bit of politics behind all that, balance of power between original and current contributors of a course. Doesn’t seem respectful for passionate language teachers who want to help the world discover their language and get kicked out after helping build a course. I’ve seen it happen, and that was not nice.
